The Haven Fund

“Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.”
— Luke 6:30

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
— Matthew 19:21
How it began...
At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
-Acts 10:1-2
The Haven fund was created by our Vicar, Mother Rachel. In 2023 she received a number of calls from families in need that exceeded her ability to help. For every five calls she had the capacity to help one. Upon learning more about the lack of resources in Bell County for those in need, she established The Haven Fund as a way to set aside funds to be used exclusively in answering the calls for help our community receives.

Over the course of 2023 our community put families and individuals up in hotels, assisted with rent money and provided food and hygiene items. The first collections for The Haven Fund were taken at the Blue Christmas Service in December of 2023, an annual liturgy put on by the area Episcopal Churches as well as our first Christmas Eve Service.
